Vilectra was started in Barcelona in the early 1950's, when after the difficult postwar years, Spain began a new phase of economic development. Recognising a vast unfulfilled market for automotive spare parts, the founder of Vilectra, Rafael Vila Benito took the initiative and created his vision of the future.

This vision grew into an enterprise dedicated to the manufacture of automobile spare parts and became a player in the industry that was to dominate the world economy.

As time passed Vilectra evolved into a company that set its' sights on supply to the world market, where increased production led to the need to expand and move to the modern industrial area of Premià de Mar.

Now established in the new factory and employing the latest production techniques and state of the art design technology and communications, Vilectra now manufactures products that meet the UNE-EN-ISO 9002 quality requirements.

Vilectra now enjoys an enviable position in the world market thanks to their customers, suppliers and of course the collaborators within the company without whom the vision could not have been achieved.
